2FA on your RustSnowball account adds a TOTP second factor on top of Steam OAuth. Use any authenticator app (Authy, 1Password, Google Authenticator). Strongly recommended for accounts holding >$100 balance.
Step-by-step
Open Account Settings → Security → Enable 2FA.
Scan the QR code with your authenticator app.
Enter the 6-digit code the app shows to confirm setup.
Save the recovery codes shown — you need these if you lose your phone.
Use one of your recovery codes (saved at setup time). If you have no recovery codes, contact support — recovery is possible but slow (identity verification required).
Does 2FA slow down login?
Adds ~5 seconds at login time. Trivial overhead vs the account-takeover protection.
