Account Closure & Dormancy Policy
Close your Rust Snowball Account at any time from /account or by emailing [email protected]. Inactive Accounts go dormant after twelve (12) months; dormant balances are handled per Section 4 below.
1. Voluntary closure
You may close your Account at any time. Two routes:
- In-Account: Account → Close Account;
- By email: Send a closure request from the email on file (or from the Steam-linked email if any) to [email protected] with the subject "Account closure".
On receipt we will: (i) confirm we have received the request; (ii) flag the Account as closure-pending; (iii) cancel any pending Steam-trade offers; (iv) lock new wagers, new deposits, and new bonuses on the Account.
2. Balance on closure
Before we can pay out your balance and close the Account:
- Any outstanding wagering on bonuses must be satisfied, forfeited, or cleared;
- Any ongoing investigation (fraud, Terms breach, chargeback, sanctions concern, court order) must be resolved;
- Any reasonable verification we require must be completed;
- Any pending deposit that has not yet credited must finalize (or be canceled by the network);
- The balance must clear our daily payout cap. We may split a large balance into multiple compliant payouts.
The withdrawable balance is paid out under our normal withdrawal review procedure. Funds subject to forfeiture under Terms Section 14 are not returned by closure.
3. Effect of closure
Once your Account is closed:
- You can no longer log in to it;
- Your display name and avatar are removed from leaderboards, chat history, and any other public-facing surface to the extent operationally feasible;
- Your historical ledger entries (Transaction, Bet, Round) remain in our records under our retention obligations — we cannot fully delete them while tax, audit, dispute, fraud-prevention, legal, or regulatory needs require us to retain them;
- Public chat messages you sent are not retroactively deleted by closure; you can request specific message redaction by email;
- Marketing communications stop;
- Your referral code, if any, is retired; existing referee bindings stay subject to the referral and promotion rules in the Terms of Service.
4. Dormancy
An Account becomes dormant when it has had no login, no deposit, no withdrawal, no wager, and no support interaction for twelve (12) consecutive months. We may, in any order:
- Send a dormancy notice to the email on file with at least 30 days' warning before any balance action;
- Move the Account to a dormant tier and pause any rakeback / commission accrual;
- Apply a monthly dormancy administration fee no greater than the lesser of (i) $5 per month or (ii) the balance, beginning ninety (90) days after the dormancy notice, where local law permits;
- Where local law requires, transfer the residual balance to the relevant unclaimed-property regime (US states), to the local equivalent (UK / EU / AU dormant-account regimes), or to a recognized problem-gambling charity in jurisdictions where regulators prefer that route.
You can rescue a dormant Account at any time by logging in or contacting [email protected] before the balance has been escheated or transferred.
5. Closure for cause
We may close an Account at any time under Terms Section 14. Where closure is for cause and the balance is forfeitable under that Section, the balance is not returned. Where closure is for cause but the balance is not forfeitable (e.g. a regulatory direction not relating to misconduct), the balance is paid out under the same review procedure as a voluntary closure.
6. No reopening after sanctions, fraud, or financial-crime closure
Accounts closed for sanctions evasion, fraud, identity theft, financial-crime concerns, or repeated chargeback abuse will not be reopened. Future attempts to re-register using the same Steam ID, device signals, payment method, household, or IP may be detected and blocked, and any new balance held on a re-registered Account at the moment of discovery is forfeitable as liquidated damages for the renewed breach.
7. Self-exclusion vs closure
If your purpose is to stop gambling rather than to leave the Platform administratively, use Self-Exclusion instead. Self-exclusion preserves your balance and your historical Account; closure terminates the relationship.
8. Data after closure
We retain personal data after closure for the periods set out in the Privacy Policy. Verification records and ledger entries are retained only for as long as needed for legal retention, tax, audit, dispute, fraud-prevention, regulatory, or open-investigation purposes. You may exercise data-subject rights against the retained data under that Policy.
