Refund & Reversal Policy
Deposits to Rust Snowball are final. Wagers resolved on-chain or via our provably-fair RNG are final. We reverse only the narrow categories of error set out below, and we never honor chargebacks against deposits we have already credited.
This Policy is part of your Terms of Service. Defined terms have the meaning set out there.
1. The general rule: deposits and wagers are final
Once a deposit is credited to your Account it is final and non-refundable. Once a wager is placed and resolves under the provably-fair scheme, the outcome is final and non-refundable. By depositing or wagering you accept this finality as a condition of participating; it is the basis on which the Platform's liquidity and house edge are set.
2. Narrow carve-outs where a reversal may apply
We will, at our reasonable discretion, reverse or re-settle a transaction in the following circumstances:
- Verifier mismatch. The published commit and revealed seed of a Round do not reproduce the announced outcome when run through the open-source verifier. Sole remedy: re-settlement to the verifier output (gain or loss).
- Manifest paytable / multiplier error ("palp"). The displayed odds, multiplier, multiplier cap, paytable, RTP band, or conversion rate at the moment of wager differed materially from the value the engine actually used because of a configuration defect or display bug. Sole remedy: re-settlement to the engine's correct value or void of the wager with principal refund.
- Operator-caused settlement error. An ledger double-credit, double-debit, or off-by-one rounding caused by us, discovered by audit. We will correct the ledger to its correct state; net winners keep the corrected delta.
- Failed crypto withdrawal. Where a withdrawal we dispatched is irrecoverably refused by the destination network and we receive the returned funds, we credit them back to your Account, less any network fees actually incurred.
- Cancelled deposit. Where a Skin deposit offer is allowed to lapse or is canceled by either party, the deposit is not credited; you keep the underlying Skins.
- Compliance reversal. Where we must reverse a credit to comply with sanctions, payment-network, fraud-prevention, financial-crime, or court-order obligations. We may not be permitted to return the funds; in those cases the funds are held under the relevant order.
3. Carve-outs that do not apply
The following do not entitle you to a refund:
- Buyer's remorse, change of mind, frustration with a result, or chasing losses;
- Disconnection, browser crash, lost wifi, mobile-network failure, or hardware failure during a Round (the round is server-authoritative; provably-fair Rounds resolve to the seed reveal regardless of your client state);
- Loss caused by your own use of a third-party tool, bot, "auto-cashout" helper, signal service, or strategy product;
- Loss caused by another User you played against (Coinflip, head-to-head Case Battles, etc.);
- Loss caused by general crypto-price volatility between deposit and play, or between resolution and withdrawal;
- Loss caused by a Skin price change between deposit and withdrawal under the oracle methodology disclosed at /legal/fairness;
- Loss caused by your own breach of any provision of the Terms of Service, the AUP, or the Bonus Terms.
4. Chargebacks and payment disputes
Initiating a chargeback, payment-network dispute, ACH reversal, blockchain reorg-claim, or Steam trade-dispute against a deposit we honored is a material breach of these terms. We will:
- Suspend your Account on first notice of the dispute;
- Submit a defense with full transaction-history, IP, device, and play evidence;
- Forfeit the disputed amount and any winnings derived from it (under Terms Section 14);
- Charge a chargeback handling fee equal to the larger of the processor pass-through charge or fifty US dollars (USD 50);
- Place a permanent block on your Steam ID, device and network signals, IP block, and any wallet associated with the dispute;
- Report the dispute to payment-network databases (the Visa and Mastercard chargeback registries, MATCH where applicable, the equivalent crypto-acquirer registries), blockchain-analytics providers, and where appropriate to law enforcement.
Where you sincerely believe a deposit was unauthorized, contact us first at [email protected]. We will investigate and, where the unauthorized use is established, reverse the credit and assist you.
5. How to request a reversal
Email [email protected] with:
- Your Account identifier;
- The Round ID, deposit ID, withdrawal ID, or transaction hash;
- Which Section 2 carve-out you believe applies;
- Any seed reveal, verifier output, screenshot, or other documentary support.
Requests must be lodged within ninety (90) calendar days of the event giving rise to the request, failing which they are barred.
6. Reversal mechanics
Where we approve a reversal, the refund is paid to the original settlement asset and address wherever possible. Crypto refunds are paid net of any network fee actually incurred. Skin refunds are paid in the original Skin where the Skin remains in our inventory and we still trust that withdrawal route; otherwise we may pay the Coin equivalent at the oracle price at the moment of refund.
7. Cooling-off / right of withdrawal
Online gambling services are generally exempt from statutory cooling-off / right-of-withdrawal protections under EU and UK consumer-rights regimes because the service is performed in full at the moment of wager. Where mandatory law of your country of residence does grant a cooling-off right, that right is preserved but applies only to the unused, unwagered portion of any deposit. Wagered amounts are not refundable under any cooling-off provision.
8. Tax
A reversal may have tax consequences in your jurisdiction. You are solely responsible for the tax treatment of any reversal. We do not provide tax advice.
