Crash 2x auto-cashout
A 2x auto-cashout target is the conservative go-to crash play: you double your bet roughly half the time, lose the other half.
Exact hit probability is RTP / target_multiplier where RTP ≈ 95-97% (calibrated long-tail). At 2x: ≈ 48% hit rate.
Equivalent to coinflip variance with a slightly worse edge — coinflip's 5% rake vs crash's 3-5% edge means they're close.
Math & key numbers
| Auto-cashout target | 2.00x |
| Hit probability | ~48% |
| Multiplier per hit | 2.00x |
| EV per $1 bet | ~$0.96 |
| House edge | ~4% (band-dependent) |
Strategy notes
- 2x auto-cashout is the low-variance crash strategy — close to coinflip variance with a slightly tighter house edge.
- Doubling-down after losses (Martingale) at 2x: expected ruin in <50 rounds at a $100 bankroll on $5 starting bets.
- For lower variance still: 1.5x auto-cashout (hits ~63%, multiplier 1.5x, same long-run EV).
- For higher variance: 5x or 10x targets — much lower hit rate, much bigger wins.

Frequently asked questions
- Is 2x auto-cashout a good crash strategy?
- It's the standard low-variance play. Long-run EV is identical to any other auto-cashout target — the house edge is fixed. 2x is just the lowest-variance choice that still feels like winning when you win.
- Why doesn't 2x auto-cashout hit 50%?
- The 4% house edge eats the 50% baseline down to ~48%. If 2x hit exactly 50%, the game would be EV-neutral.
